Drug abuse is a major problem in today’s world. It’s basically a human habit that has long turned into an addiction which has taken human civilization by storm. Humans across ages have taken to drug, while the younger section is more prone to these substances even adults have also often succumb to substance abuse. The main cause of concern for worry is the way it can affect an addict life and health. Findrxonline mentions in his blog that The effects are generally both psychological and heath wise. These affects are often disastrous resulting in complete destruction. So it becomes to task of prime importance to fix this problem not only for those who are already addicted but also for those who are already addicted but to prevent the practice of drug abuse.

Why people are dragged towards the prescription drugs more than ever before? The reason is obvious, easy availability of the prescription drugs. You can hardly find other drugs as easily as you can get hold of the prescription drugs. This is in fact that main reason people become addicted to prescription drugs beyond their control. Addiction to any substance requires constant supply of the same product. This becomes little bit difficult when the drug is raw and not available openly in the market like the prescription drugs. Most of the times, no one will even doubt you when you buy the prescription drugs over and over again without presenting any particular prescription.

My sister Jennifer was a drug addict for 13 years. She struggled for many years and could not find the help she needed. In and out of rehab, hospitals, we never knew where she was staying from one night to the next. It was terrible. And above all – we knew she was tormented by her addiction. We lived in Florida and there’s a law called The Marchman Act that allows for involuntary drug treament. It basically allows law enforcement to pickup that person and take them to a secure facily for a short period of time. The problem is the cost of filing (upwards of $300) and the depth of the bill only allows for a few days treatment.

My sister ultimately died of her addiction, she did not make it. Many people can’t make it on their own. In repsonse, my mother and I have created a website called http://www.thejenniferact.com and the goal is to create sweeping legislation that can help family members help their loved ones get the treatment they need.
