Merry Christmas and Thank You
We would like to wish each and every one of you who reads this site a Merry Christmas. We would also like to thank you for being frequent visitors. However, there is another group here we would like to thank. Those of you who have shared your stories on here. You have walked through battlefields some could never fathom. You have shared your experiences and because of the strength you found in yourselves, others have come forward. Whether they simply felt
inspired or encouraged, whether they recognized an event in their own lives that was similar, they were given hope to reach out and ask for help.
The stories shared here over the past year have been emotional and gut-wrenching. True stories about addiction usually are. Drugs do not discriminate as we have come to learn, many of us the hard way. Those of you who stepped forward and confided with us on this site your experiences have inspired and helped others to come forward and for that we thank you.
Whether you were the addict or the loved one of an addict, whether you were the girl in school tortured by a bully, or the woman on a date with a man she could not see because of his addiction, whether you were the soldier who battled prescription medication addiction, or the husband who’s wife finally left him after he turned into a mean drunk, you took what happened in your life, got help and then shared your life story here. Your courage is to be commended. Your inspiration is to be recognized.
This site is more painful and emotional than a lot of sites because the stories here are real and based on actual events that have happened to those who shared them. But it does not stop there. This site is also full of hope and inspiration. It shows readers that help is available and that one can overcome an addiction no matter how bad it seems.
So to those of you who shared your stories, we thank you and wish you the best Christmas season yet. To those of you who stop in from time to time, we encourage you to recognize that what these people have overcome, so can you. We wish all of you, our readers who share your stories and those who simply read them, a very merry Christmas. May the new year bring with it an abundance of hope and joy for all of you.
